The Master of Engineering degree provides students with the necessary skills to succeed in today’s competitive world. It can be completed in two phases, requiring 30 credit hours of study. The Cornell MEM features a variety of courses that are designed to enhance technical knowledge and develop business skills.

Students who major in engineering management must take two additional courses to graduate with 32 credits. These include a professional and leadership development series and a project management seminar.

Each student’s program features at least 9 credits that are allocated for a track area of specialization. These are designed to help students develop their own paths.

Choose whether to finish the Cornell MEM in 18, 15 or 12 months. Get exactly what you need to progress from integrated project work, international exchanges and a diverse range of electives. The program has Core Courses (60 ECTS) Choose electives from the Advanced Management Topics (24 ECTS) and showcases new knowledge and skills with the Final Masters Project (6 ECTS).       Eligibility and Requirements for Getting into Cornell MEM

      Eligibility

      • A 3 or 4-year undergraduate degree in any field
      • Excellent written and spoken English (TOEFL – 90 iBT /IELTS 6.5 or equivalent)

      Application Information

      There is a $105 non-refundable application fee that must be submitted electronically with your application. The fee may be waived in cases of financial hardship or for qualified participants of certain special programs.

      English Language requirements

      All international applicants must have a minimum level of English proficiency in order to be considered. Details about this requirement are available on the Graduate School’s website.

      TOEFL

      The Graduate School determines the requirements for the IBT. To be considered for admission, an individual must meet these minimum scores in each section.

      IELTS

      For instance, if an individual has a combined score of 7 or higher in the listening, writing, and speaking sections, they should be considered for admission.

      If an individual has studied full-time for two or more years at a university or college, where English is the language used for instruction, they can be considered for an exemption from the requirement. An individual can only be considered for this if they have studied at a university or college that’s located in a country where the native language is English.

      Some countries, such as Singapore, India, and the Anglophone Caribbean, do not qualify for an exemption from the requirement. Other countries that do not have an exemption from the requirement include Francophone Canada, Puerto Rico, and Anglophone Africa.

      Cornell MEM Deadlines

      All students are considered for the College of Engineering’s merit-based funding program. Approximately 15% of students receive partial funding. Thus, you must apply on time to be considered for these grants and aids. This also gives you enough time to prepare for the visa application procedure.
