Dartmouth’s Master of Engineering Management (MEM) programme aims to develop managers who are knowledgeable in both engineering and commercial aspects of technology. Thayer School of Engineering and Tuck School of Business collaborate to offer this highly customised degree. Faculty from both schools teach small classes. Students have access to Dartmouth’s global alumni network, and many interact with professionals from the Geisel School of Medicine and the larger New England entrepreneurial community.

On average, a Dartmouth MEM degree bearer earns 36 per cent more than a BS degree holder in engineering when they graduate, and this disparity grows as time passes. After ten years, the Dartmouth MEM graduate is paid on par with or better than an MBA graduate with the same seniority.

    Industry Internship

    Students do an industry internship as a capstone experience, during which they work on a project as part of ENGG 390: Master of Engineering Management Project. Engineering, management, or both can be the focus of the internship. Students manage a real-world project and apply engineering problem-solving abilities while working in an industrial setting throughout the training. Students collaborate with the sponsor and earn course credit, so they must meet a variety of demands and expectations throughout the internship. Students present the results of their internship assignment to a professional evaluation board when they return to Dartmouth.
