Letter of Recommendation for HEC Montreal

LORs are a way for Adcoms to get authenticity about the candidate’s professional and academic achievements and experiences. Usually the schools ask for one academic and one professional LOR; however, these can vary as per different universities. An academic LOR is generally required to see how the candidate has performed in high school or college, what strengths and weaknesses they showcased. Similarly, a professional LOR is used to assess the candidate’s strengths and weaknesses as showcased while working in a professional environment.

Another important thing you must consider while getting your LORs is choosing the right referee. For instance, for your Academic LOR you must go for a professor from college instead of one from school and for a professional LOR you can go for your direct supervisor or colleague who knows you the best.

LOR Samples for HEC Montreal MiM and MBA Programs

An academic LOR generally showcases skills like presentation, participation in extracurricular, teamwork skills. It’s important that you provide instances where you showcased these skills to support the information. In addition, you can include one weakness and the impact it created on any of your academic project, assignment. However, to end the LOR on a positive note you must mention what you did in your power to overcome that weakness.

While writing an LOR you must ensure that it’s being written from the referee’s perspective; hence, you can’t give too many details about your endeavors as that can make your LOR less impactful.

A professional LOR justifies high-profile skills like Leadership, teamwork, Problem-solving, Taking initiatives, etc. Just like an academic LOR you must provide instances where you showcased these skills. These instances can be your professional projects, tasks, presentation, handling client meetings, generating revenue, etc. Besides, mentioning the impact you created based on your skills is equally significant. If possible, add a weakness that negatively impacted your work and how you overcame it gradually with practice.

HEC Montreal Interview Questions

An interview is a way for Adcoms to assess the candidates proactivity and communication skills. Here, the questions that are asked are mainly to know the candidate personal, professional and academic profile. Although, you must have mentioned all these aspects in your essays and SOPs, answering such questions during an intreview validates and strengthen your application, as the information becomes more genuine and reliable.

While preparing for an interview you must ensure that you’re confident and giving authentic information about yourselves. When we are writing SOPs and essays, we might make up a few percentages; however, during an interview making up information becomes apparent, leaving a negative impression on the Adcoms. Interviews are a terrific way to book your seat in your dream university.
