The curriculum of Manchester MBA includes various electives and core courses for the development of your critical thinking abilities and entrepreneurships skills. Individual Projects- The individual project allows you to develop your ideas on a topic of interest by considering the implications of current thinking within an applied context.
Group Consulting Project- The Group Consulting Project is designed to develop your potential by applying your knowledge and problem-solving skills to a real-world consulting project for an external organisation. Building on your innovative thinking and entrepreneurial abilities, you will work in a dynamic team to produce recommendations that will be presented directly to the client.
Entrepreneurial Journey- Building on your core teaching in the Design Thinking and Innovative Problem Solving, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship modules, you will take an idea for a new product or service, develop a value proposition, carry out customer discovery research, validate the product or service, and create a fully-fledged business proposal. At the end of your six-month project journey, you will pitch to a panel of investors, and compete for seed funding.
The Study Abroad program offered by the school is an optional program for you. It allows you to increase your international exposure and build your network by taking advantage of specialised electives at one of our partner schools.
Innovate today to impact tomorrow- The Imperial Innovation Challenge asks you to solve the question of how can our insight and imagination transform society? Through this one-week learning laboratory, you will apply innovating thinking to complex international issues and generate business solutions.
An immersive experience- To gain an immersive experience, you will be working in groups, you will use business model innovation to create economic disruption with positive environmental and social effects. By the end of the project, you will display critical knowledge of skills related to the management of innovation and understand how to articulate the importance of sustainable business model innovation in addressing global challenges.
Cross-disciplinary exposure. Imperial College Business School will be expose you to new thinking and research from other faculties such as Natural Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to take on global challenges in health, energy, the environment and the digital universe. Through the Imperial Innovation Challenge, you will develop the cross-disciplinary expertise sought by recruiters and prepare yourself to tackle challenges across any sector you pursue.
The Personal Leadership Journey will help you to identify your own individual strengths and area where you need development. The Journey will help you to develop your leadership skills and will help you build networks throughprojects and internships.Through this leadership Journey, you will address your professional development areas through a range of activities including workshops, reflective exercises and one-to-one meetings.
Imperial College Business School provides you with an opportunity to travel to international destinations to study at partner schools and work with local businesses. The Global Experience Week offered by the school provides you with the opportunity to have valuable real-world experience through indulging in work with community businesses. Through Study Abroad and IB Glocal Electives, you can deep dive into specialist courses and better understand how selected themes relate to the region you’re studying in.
Internships are an important way in which to acquire experience, develop practical skills, build networks, and gain insight to help direct your career trajectory. You will employ your networking skills to organise your internship, and the Careers team will alert you to opportunities that come to the school from the corporate connections and alumni.
The European Insights Trip is conducted to complete your year’s Innovation Challenge. The destination is chosen according to your Innovation Challenge as it allows you to explore and experience the topic in real-life.
