MIT purposefully puts together groups of kids on teams with a range of abilities and backgrounds. The MBAn experience requires this diversity to be there. In addition, all the students gain from the various viewpoints MIT’s international students offer to the community.

In its portfolio, MIT Sloan MBAn Class Profile brings together a varied group of students with various objectives. Students collaborate in two-person teams for seven months with domestic and overseas sponsors. The student teams are matched with host organisations in January, and committed faculty advisers are given to them. Students work on their projects at MIT from February to May, often meeting with their faculty advisor and the host organisation. For a full-time summer internship, students travel to the host organisation. Students receive their official degrees in August after finishing their summer internship and submitting a final report and presentation.

    The West Coast Trek is an opportunity for students to explore and understand the data science industry firsthand. During this immersive experience, analytics students meet with industry leaders representing some of the world’s most prestigious companies. By the trip’s end, students leave with a clearer idea of the various career paths and working environments they can expect once they go to MIT MBAn. This week-long trek includes networking events with alumni and industry leaders, visits to companies from Seattle to Silicon Valley, and the opportunity to connect socially with peers.

    Eligibility and Requirements (How to get into MIT Sloan MBAn) 


    The academic and professional achievements of every applicant are taken into consideration by the admission committee at MIT. If a candidate has a bachelor’s degree or will have one by the academic year they apply, they are qualified to apply to the Master of Business Analytics programme. Additionally eligible to apply are those who have completed a three-year bachelor’s degree at an overseas university.

    The application deadline for a Master in business Analytics at MIT Sloan in 2023 is 5th January 2023, and the final decision will be released by 7th march 2023.

    When the application opens in early July, the deadlines will be publicised. After the Admissions Committee has reviewed all applications, applicants will be notified of their status on or before those dates.     Application Essay for MIT Sloan MBAn

    Application for the MBAn program at MIT Sloan includes one essay question and two video questions to be answered by the candidates. These questions are: 

    Essay Question 1: Please describe your reason for pursuing the Master of Business Analytics (MBAn) degree. What do you hope to gain from the program? And what are your career aspirations? (500 words or less)

    Video Question 1: Please upload a one-minute (60-second) video introducing yourself to your future classmates and letting us know why you are interested in the field of analytics and data science. The video should be a single take (no editing) and lasting no more than one minute, consisting of you speaking directly to the camera. 

    Video Question 2: All MBAn applicants must submit a brief video statement responding to a simple, open-ended general interest question. The question is designed to help us get to know you better, see how you express yourself and assess your fit with the MIT Sloan culture. It does not require prior preparation and will not be a technical question. Video Question 2 is a part of your required application materials and will appear as a page within the application once the other parts of your application are completed.

    All candidates accepted into the MBAn programme will only be required to attend an interview on the invitation. An invitation to an interview indicates that your application has advanced in the review process, but it does not assure acceptance.

    It includes both behavioural and technical questions. Students may be asked questions in arithmetic, probability, statistics, and computer science related to data science and analytics as part of the technical interview.

    Additionally, the class will ask behavioural questions about how students collaborate with others, make choices, and resolve issues. The interview lasts between 45 and 60 minutes.
