Application Essays (Rotman MBA)
Essays for Rotman school of management require a unique spunk, something that they describe as the ‘spike factor’. All the written essays and documents are to be submitted as one pdf document. Moreover, there are two video essays that are compulsory in nature and have a time written response component.
Explain your spike factor (something unique about yourself) that you believe will contribute to the Rotman community and is aligned with Rotman values. (up to 1000 words)* Optional – Please upload 1-3 of your ‘spikiest’ pictures to the supplemental items section of your application here. Note: Your photos must be uploaded as a single PDF.
There is a video interview component in the application where the interviewer would ask 2 essay based questions. Students have to answer the question. This in no way shape or form replaces the actual interview phase of the application but serves as a medium to get to have a lengthy conversation with the applicants regarding their dreams, aspirations and other aspects that have shaped them as unique individuals and set them apart.
Other application information
Candidates have to undergo an interview session as well in order to discuss their background, interests, goals and inspiration.
