MBA admissions are based on the performance and the grades you get in entrance exams. There are over 50 MBA entrance exams for admission to the best MBA colleges. These exam patterns are administered at three varying levels.

MBA entrance exams 2021 syllabus may vary depending on the test and the business school you choose. However, almost all of them share a few general topics like Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation.

GMAT

Common Admission Test (CAT)

CAT or Common Admission Test is the most prominent and famous entrance examination administered by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). CAT 2021 scores are accepted for admission by 20 IIMs and several other management institutes around the country. Every year more than two lakh students attend this exam date, and the same will be followed for CAT 2021.

CAT began in 1950 and regulated to being an online entrance test in 2009. Comprising of 100 multiple choice questions CAT 2021 exam should be solved in 180 minutes. CAT’s registration process starts in August-September, and the exam pattern is carried out in November-December. Xavier Aptitude Test – XAT

Another top management entrance, Xavier Aptitude Test or XAT, is a computer-based management aptitude test. Administered by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur, XAT is given roughly one lakh application forms yearly. Traditionally, XAT is carried out on the first Sunday of the year(January). XAT scores are allowed by XLRI, Jamshedpur and more than 100 management institutes. NMAT by GMAC

NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) is also one of the major MBA PGDM entrance exam patterns. It has lately been obtained by GMAC and changed as NMAT by GMAC. NMAT by GMAC is a computer-based exam carried out over a 75-day testing window between October and December. Aspirants need to attempt 120 MCQs in 120 minutes.

SNAP scores are principally accepted by the 15 institutes which are under Symbiosis International University. Nevertheless, several other MBA PGDM colleges use SNAP scores for admission. SNAP enrollments take place in November, and the test is carried out by December.
SNAP Test is a computer-based exam pattern and conducted for two hours. It tests aspirants on:

CMAT exam

CMAT

The second-largest management entrance examination of the country, the Common Management Admission Test or CMAT, is taken roughly 1.5 lakh application forms every year. Administered by the National Testing Agency, CMAT is a familiar choice amidst MBA candidates after CAT. The first CMAT exam date took place in 2012. MAT

Management Aptitude Test or MAT is also one of the most prestigious MBA entrance exams 2021. More than 600 institutes allow MAT exam scores for admittance to management courses offered. Conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA), MAT is taken four times a year, February, May, September and December. The exam is retained in both online (computer-based) and offline (paper-based) modes. The MAT question paper has 200 questions, and it is carried out for 150 minutes. The aspirant is tested on the following five topics:

  • Intelligence and Critical Reasoning

ATMA

AIMS Test for Management Admissions or ATMA is also a national-level management entrance test. It is carried online and offline and conducted four times a year: February, May, July, and August. In addition, ATMA scores are accepted by several management courses offered for admissions in over 600 MBA PGDM institutes and carried out for three hours.

ATMA question paper comprises of the following divisions:

 

  • Analytical Reasoning Skills Part 1
  • Analytical Reasoning Skills Part 2
  • Quantitative Skills Part 1
  • Quantitative Skills Part 2
  • Verbal Skills Part 1
  • Verbal Skills Part 2

KIITEE Management

KIITEE or Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination is a national-level computer-based test for various courses offered, and an MBA is one of them. The KIITEE exam is administered by KIIT University in January every year. The KIITEE MBA entrance exams 2021 scores are principally accepted for admission for two programmes:

MBA at KIIT School of Management (offered at KIIT University)
MBA (Rural Management) (KIIT School of Rural Management)

Applicants must answer 150 questions in 150 minutes. There are four divisions:

 

  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Analytical Reasoning
  • English
  • General Knowledge
  • Issue of Social concern

Institute Level MBA Exams

IIFT MBA (IB)

IIFT MBA (IB)
IIFT is a particular institute entrance test conducted by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). IIFT Exam score is valid for admission to IIFT only. The exam is retained in both online (computer-based) and offline (paper-based) mode and conducted in November for two hours. It comprises 200 multiple-choice questions.

It tests an aspirant’s ability in the following sections:

  • English Comprehension
  • General Knowledge & Awareness
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Quantitative Analysis

TISSNET (TISSMAT)

Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test or TISSNET is an institute-level exam held by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for all Masters courses offered, which is tendered in TISS-Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad, Guwahati, IMHST Chennai, MHAT Calicut and G-SET Ranchi. An internet-based test, TISSNET is, retained for 100 minutes (1 hour & 40 minutes). Questions asked in the test are related to the following topics:

 

  • Social Sensitivity
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Analytical Ability
  • Knowledge of Contemporary issues

IBSAT

ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test or IBSAT is an institute-level entrance test conducted by The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. IBSAT test scores are employed for admission to MBA and PhD programmes at nine ICFAI Business School (IBS) campuses. Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Dehradun, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.
IBSAT test is conducted over 15 days, wherein candidates can reserve a slot according to their convenience. The computer-based test (CBT) evaluates the candidate’s proficiency in the following:

 

  • Verbal Ability
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation

MICAT

MICAT or MICA Admission test is the online entrance test for MICA’s flagship two-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Management – Communications (PGDM-C).

The 2021 application form must provide CAT, XAT and GMAT scores. Then, chosen candidates will be invited to take the MICAT entrance test conducted in December.

Carried out for over 125 minutes, MICAT has two divisions:

  • Division 1 evaluates the applicants’ analytical skills, logical skills, verbal skills, divergent thinking, written communication skills and general awareness.
  • Division 2 comprises of a Psychometric Test.

IRMASAT

IRMA Social Awareness Test or IRMASAT is an institute-level entrance examination. It is held for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PRM) and Fellow Program in Rural Management (FPRM) at the Institute of Rural Management, Anand. IRMA test is retained in January.

IRMA utilizes CAT/XAT scores for choosing candidates for the first round. Selected 2021 application forms are then called for IRMA written test or IRMASAT on “Issues of Social Concern”.

    HPU MAT

    HP University Management Aptitude Test or HPU MAT is an institute-level entrance examination held for admission to Himachal Pradesh University Business School and HPU Regional Center, Dharamshala.

    The HPU MAT entrance test has four divisions:

     

    • English Comprehension
    • Reasoning
    • Business Environment
    • Arithmetic Comprehension & Data Interpretation

    State Level MBA Entrance Exams

    MAH-MBA CET

    Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or MAH-CET is a state-level management entrance exam date conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, for admission to several management programs like MMS, PGDBM and PGDM in many institutes in the state of Maharashtra.

    MAH CET is usually conducted around March, and applicants must endeavour 200 questions in 150 minutes.

    The MAH-CET question paper has three divisions:

     

    • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension
    • Quantitative Aptitude
    • Logical / Abstract Reasoning

    TANCET

    Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test or TANCET is a state-level written entrance test held for admission to MBA programs in Tamil Nadu. TANCET is administered by Anna University, Chennai, on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

    TANCET test is carried out in May, and is for two hours (100 questions) and tests the candidates’ proficiency in:

     

    • Analysis of Business Situations
    • Reading Comprehension
    • Quantitative Ability
    • Data Sufficiency
    • English Usage

    TS ICET

    Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test or TSICET is a state-level written MBA entrance exams test and, it was conducted for the first time in May 2015. The exam scores are accepted for admission to several MBA programs in the state of Telangana.

    TSICET tests candidates ability in the following divisions:

     

    • Analytical Ability
    • Mathematical Ability
    • Communication Ability

    KMAT

    Karnataka Management Aptitude Test or KMAT is a state-level entrance examination for admission to post-graduate level courses offered. MBA institutions and B-schools in India are administered in Karnataka. KMAT test is carried out thrice in May, July and September. KMAT enrollment time-frame is declared in April.

    Administered by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA), KMAT scores are employed for admission by more than 169 schools in India state-wide.

    Applicants must endeavor 120 questions in 120 minutes. KMAT consists of the following divisions:

     

    • Language Comprehension
    • Mathematical Skills
    • Basic Aptitude

    APICET

    Andhra Pradesh – Integrated Common Entrance Test or APICET is a state-level MBA entrance exams for admission to several B-schools in India and MBA colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

    APICET is usually carried out in May. In 2019, the test will be carried out by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, on account of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

    APICET is a paper-based entrance test. Applicants must endeavour 200 questions in 150 minutes.
    APICET comprises of three divisions
